Poc-it can be controlled remotely and automated with the PC Remote Control
option. This feature allows remotely starting and stopping of Poc-it tests via
a serial connection with a PC. A DOS program is provided for starting and
stopping the test, as well as C source code for DOS and Windows.
The Poc-it PC provides two modes of remotely controlling the Poc-it: Automatic and Manual.
In manual mode, the user can manually start and stop the Poc-it Test. This is
identical to starting and stopping the test from the Poc-it keypad. The Poc-it
must be set to "Remote: On" and the On and Off times must be set up on the Poc-it.
Once this is done, the Poc-it can be remotely signaled to start and stop the test.
In auto mode, the user can automatically start and stop the tests after a
predefined duration. These durations can be set with the Test Start and Test
Stop durations. The timing resolution for these is +/- one second.
(NOTE: Starting the test remotely does not clear the cycle counters as is done
from the keyboard. In this sense it is more like the Continue Test function
except the Poc-it outputs have been turned off)
